Our Units
The units of the New York Guard are spread out throughout the state. New York City and Long Island are covered by the 88th Area Command. The Lower Hudson Valley is served by the 56th Area Command. The rest of the state is led by the 10th Area Command. If you have skills that our Headquarters Staff require, you would drill out of Camp Smith in Cortlandt Manor, New York.
During State Active Duty you have the opportunity to serve anywhere in the state. The location of the mission determines which soldiers will be put on State Active Duty first.

Our headquarters staff is lead by our Commanding General. While this is not where every new recruit goes, there are often available slots within the HQ staff. Our Headquarters is based at Camp Smith in

Our medical staff supports the activities of the New York Guard and adds to New York State's medical capabilities.

Legal Support
Our Legal Support staff assists the New York National Guard and provides services for the service members of the New York Guard.
Chaplain's Corps
Our Chaplain's Corp meets the religious and emotional needs of our soldiers, they can be found on most state active duty missions meeting the same needs for all of New York's service members.
